HOW TO OBTAIN A CONCEALED CARRY WEAPONS PERMIT IN CALIFORNIA
In the State of California, county sheriffs, local police departments, and other municipal authorities are authorized to issue CCW permits.

Several other law enforcement agencies in San Joaquin County also issue permits. Some recognize providers on the San Joaquin County Sheriff's approved vendors list, the City of Ripon included. If you live in another city within the County's boundaries and want to obtain your permit through a local authority, verify with the agency on what it's criteria are.

QUALIFICATION SESSIONS
Ripon Technical Solutions sessions are aligned with California Senate Bill 2 (SB2) and the relevant Penal Codes. To learn more about SB2, visit the California DOJ site.
SB2 mandates that all first-time CCW permit applicants complete a 16 hour session and that renewal permit applicants complete an 8 hour session. Both include seminar-style and live-fire segments.
Please note, the live fire portions are not training courses -- they are qualification evaluations. You are responsible for knowing how to safely and confidently know how to operate your firearm. Safety & Competency training is available, but those courses are separate from the qualification sessions.
The live fire portion of all qualification sessions are conducted at the Escalon Sportsman's Club, in Escalon, CA.
