CONCEALED CARRY WEAPONS (CCW) PERMITS IN CALIFORNIA
In the State of California, Penal Codes (laws) regulate CCW permits, including what is considered lawful and unlawful firearms use. You can learn more about laws and regulations on the CA DOJ FAQ site.
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY SHERIFF (SJCS)
In California, local government agencies and jurisdictions issue CCW permits on behlaf of the state, these are known as an Issuing Authority (IA). The SJCS is an IA for San Joaquin County and accredits CCW qualification vendors to provide the legally mandated training and certification for individuals that want to obtain a CCW permit through the SJCOE department. Several cities in San Joaquin County also issue CCW permits and accept certifications from vendors approved by SJCS. Check with each city to determine which vendors they recognize.
RIPON TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS
SJCS and the City of Ripon recognize Ripon Technical Solutions as an accredited CCW training vendor. After completing CCW training and qualification with Ripon Technical Solutions, you will recieve a certificate of completion to provide to the IA. RIPON TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS QUALIFICATION SESSIONS
CCW Qualification courses align with California Senate Bill 2 (SB2) and the relevant Penal Codes.
SB2 mandates that all first-time CCW permit applicants complete a 16 hour session and that renewal permit applicants complete an 8 hour session. Both include seminar-style and live-fire segments.
Please note, live fire portions are not training courses, they are qualification evaluations. You are responsible for knowing how to safely and confidently operate your firearm. Safety & Competency training is available, but those courses are separate from the qualification sessions.

Save time by providing the following in advance: Picture of your ID, Picture of your existing CCW (if a renewal), the exact make, model, caliber, and serial number(s) of firearm(s) you will be qualifying with.
